The Labyrinth Reader's Society

This page has the purpose of introducing the Labyrinth Reader's Society (LRS) and the activities offered by it. The LRS is part of the Institute for the Development of the Harmonious Human Being

The Labyrinth Readers Society was founded in 1974 to maintain the craft of guiding the individual through the state of Transit between death and rebirth. You may have heard of the Tibetan Book of the Dead and Dying adn the Tibetan tradition of guiding those who have passed though the bardo.

Death is a function of life. We prefer not to ignore this very important part of life. Labyrinth Readers Society offers Readers courses and Terminal Midwifery workshops -- and, provides the service of reading for those who are dead or dying.

Activities and offerings of the LRS include:
  • Individual Readings for the dead and dying or those otherwise in need and wishing help on the spiritual level.
  • Group readings of the clear light prayer for all beings everywhere and those specifically requesting readings
  • Pattie show - a weekly show, every Tuesday 6-7pm PT, with Pat Elizabeth on gorebaggtv
  • The Labyrinth Reader's Course for online or in-person courses preparing anyone to do readings.
  • Workshops. At the time of this writing, the next workshop is scheduled for October 31 - November 1, 2009 in Grass Valley, CA.
  • LRS Bardo Official Run safaris: online events using a videogame in the spirit and intention of readings, guiding a voyager through the bardo spaces as they present themselves. The training for these runs happens in the online bardo training offered by IDHHB.
  • Instructional DVD on how to create a reading altar and space to do a reading.

The purpose of a reader is to help the individual make the transit through the dying process.The Labyrinth Readers Society works with the contemporary 20th Century text of the American Book of the Dead by E.J. Gold.

A Labyrinth Reader is a person trained in the age-old tradition of guiding the Being through the between lives state-- a practice found in every culture throughout the world; as exemplified by The Tibetan Book of the Dead, The American Book of the Dead, The Egyptian Book of the Dead, and the Calendar of Shepherds. The tradition is an oral tradition,(meaning that the instructions are read aloud), which gives specific instructions at specific intervals with the aim of guiding the individual through transit or, if possible from the moment of death into Liberation.
